Burglar Alarm Panel Compatibility
You can connect every make and model of alarm panel to the Virtual Monitoring Platform, but the transmission equipment you use affects the amount of information that we receive. Here are the different ways an alarm panel can communicate with our server:
Digital Communicator (DigiCom) - If your alarm panel has a built-in digital communicator (modem) then it will be able to transmit detailed information like zone and user numbers. You should purchase a Linksys VoIP adapter like the PAP2T or SPA3102 from any high street or online supplier.
Digicom Outputs - If your alarm panel has Digicom outputs, then it will be able to transmit basic alarm types like fire, panic and medical. It will be able to send an Intruder alarm but not the zone number that caused the alarm. You should purchase a DigiNet device direct from us.

We support the most basic level of Alarm Monitoring
Programmable Outputs - Some alarm panels have programmable outputs which can be used to let us know the difference between a couple of different types of basic alarm signal.
Siren, Bell or Strobe Output - This is the most basic level of monitoring an alarm panel and by connecting your equipment to the bell or strobe output of your panel we can determine that an alarm event has taken place, it's just that we won't know what type of alarm it is. This is good enough for many people who simply want to know that their alarm has gone off, or a particular type of button has been pressed.
However you want to do it - we will support you.
